Cllr Noel Thomas
By-Election Candidate for Galway West
A Strong Independent Voice for Galway West
Why Noel ? Why Now ?
Galway West deserves a representative who is rooted locally, independent in judgement, and focused on practical solutions — not party lines.
This by-election is about more than replacing a seat.
It is about choosing a voice that will stand up for Galway — in the Dáil, in our communities, and where decisions are actually made.
I am standing to offer a constructive, independent alternative — focused on housing, health, transport, community safety and the future of rural and Gaeltacht life.
1. Be a Strong, Independent Voice for Galway West
I will represent Galway West independently, free from party instruction and focused solely on delivering for local communities — urban, rural and Gaeltacht.
2. Put Housing for Local People First
Housing policy must serve the people who live and work in Galway.
I will push for:
Practical action on affordability
Bringing vacant and derelict homes back into use
Community-led development that protects towns and villages
Homes should be for families, not speculation.
3. Stay Accessible and Accountable
Representation should not stop at election time.
I commit to:
Regular community engagement
Listening to concerns across the constituency
Being visible, available and accountable
Trust is earned through presence and follow-through.
Why This Election Matters
This by-election comes at a time when many people across Galway West feel frustrated and unheard.
Families are struggling with housing costs.
Patients are waiting too long for care.
Commuters are losing hours each week in traffic.
Rural and Gaeltacht communities feel increasingly sidelined.
Galway West needs a representative who will work with anyone, challenge when necessary, and always put local needs first.
That is the role of a strong independent voice.
